About Us
Since our founding in 2006, the mission of Freedom Renewable Energy has been to change the world, one backyard at a time. We were incorporated officially in April of 2007 and offer a wide variety of renewable energy products and services for the greater common good.
Renewable Energy makes sense for a variety of reasons. Renewable Energy:
- is abundant and everlasting
- is free (once the initial small investment is paid off)
- is clean energy. Renewable Energy solutions do not pollute the atmosphere, ground or water.
- allows us to move away from foreign-purchased energy supplies (decreasing our trade deficits)
- is an expanding marketplace that will continue to grow jobs locally
- avoids strip mining used for harvesting coal and uranium
- strengthens the homeland by moving us toward energy independence
- strengthens our power grid by moving power generation away from large, centralized locations
We see an ever expanding population requiring more and more energy. These needs are currently supplied primarily from fossil fuels with some nuclear power. Fossil fuels will not last forever and the majority of them now come from places on earth that do not share our underlying philosophy that "All men are created equal." Because of this philosophical difference we find ourselves sending piles of our hard-earned cash overseas to places like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Russia, enriching their leaders and further impoverishing their people.
Fossil fuels by all accounts have reached their peak. For you and me that means we most likely will run out of oil in our lifetimes. Although we have abundant supplies of coal, we are ruining our landscape by blowing the tops off mountains to harvest it. The current technology to burn coal is very costly in terms of CO2 emissions and pollution. Regardless of the debate on global warming there is clear evidence that greenhouse gasses are on the rise. We ask a simple question, "If it's in our power to remedy the problem why would we take such a colossal chance and not stop it?"
Nuclear power has many complications. The harvesting of the fuel needed for the reactors is strip mined similar to coal. Uranium is not in endless supply. The waste produced by nuclear fusion is very dangerous to mankind and will be with us for millions of years. The technology is also used to create weapons which have the potential to end all life on earth. Creating energy from nuclear technology requires huge initial investments before the first watt is generated.
